Corporate events can be performed for a variety of reasons, but there is always an objective underlying the fun. We’ve briefly outlined five different types of corporate events your organization can hold at Hacienda Sarria:
Seminars are an educational event that can be used to quickly upgrade your employees’ knowledge base or showcase your company’s expertise on a specific topic. A seminar should not be compared to a lecture, but should be an interactive and dynamic event that allows audience members to interact with the speaker to discuss opinions and results.
The key thing to remember about planning a seminar is keeping in mind the target market and what you want to accomplish with that market. So whether you are looking to boost your employees’ knowledge base to increase productivity or educate clients about a new product, you will need a location that works for your seminar. At Hacienda Sarria, we can provide you with an inspiring location with minimal distraction.

The corporate meeting may seem straight-forward to plan but you want to make sure your meeting is not boring or worse, a complete waste of time (and money). A meeting can have several objectives including igniting employee passion and forging solid teamwork.
The most important part of planning a successful meeting, in any industry, is determining what you want to happen as a result of the meeting. Is the goal to foster corporate growth or realign corporate culture? Do you want your employees to leave the meeting hungrier for sales or being more open-minded with others? Either way, figuring out the main objective is paramount to a successful meeting.
3. Team-Building Events
The cornerstone of a great business is a strong team and a team-building event is great for fostering the right kind of mindset for your employees to flourish. The objective is to build up your employees’ productivity. This is accomplished through activities that build trust, relationships and morale.
What you will have to consider when planning a team-building event is what kind of activities will fire up your employees. Motivation to actually participate in a team-building exercise can be difficult to achieve. For example, an activity that combines working together and enjoying a great day outside fosters an experience that builds connections between people while allowing them to get out of the office. At Hacienda Sarria, volunteering at our Market Garden can be a great way to get your employees outside, active, and working together.
4. Business Dinners
The business dinner is a classic corporate event, perfect for celebrating corporate milestones and recognizing employees for their contributions to the organization. That said, it is still important to consider what the atmosphere and theme should be for the event. Balance is important in this case.
Food is going to be a primary concern for this kind of event. We will have to make sure that the kind of service offered (buffet vs maitre d’) fits with the atmosphere of the dinner. Attendance is going to be important if your company is going to spend on great food. And of course, dietary restrictions will also be important.
5. Incentive Events
The incentive event is meant to renew employee loyalty as well as consumer loyalty. If employees are slogging through the day and customers seem to be losing interest, then an incentive event might be what you need to rejuvenate your brand. The event itself should be short but sweet and definitely memorable.
First consider what the reason is for performing the event and go from there. Motivational speakers will be great for inspiring employees while an entertaining comedian or band can really set the mood for your customers. There is a lot of space to play for this event but all in all it should be light-hearted and exciting.
