On the day of the wedding everyone’s eyes might be on the bride, but it's a momentous event for the groom too.
There are many ways to make sure everyone feels involved in your celebration, including some day-of ideas that give the men a bit of quality bonding time.
When planning out your itinerary for the big day, consider these 5 suggestions that can add some extra excitement, or just give the groom a moment to relax and unwind:
1. Special Transportation
A limousine, vintage car, or a favourite vehicle would make anyone feel extra important, whether you're a bride or a groom.
2. Celebratory Drinks
Have a favourite aged liquor or specialty cocktail on hand for a celebratory toast to the groom.
3. Personalized Photo Shoot
Allow the men their time with the camera to take some classic group photos as well as personalized ones. Prepare some unique ideas for the pictures, such as posing as characters from a favourite movie or band.
4. Traditional Activities
Since it seems to take bridesmaids longer to get ready than groomsmen, there will probably be some extra time on the big day for the gentlemen.
Some entertaining pre-ceremony activities to partake in are:
- Playing a round of golf
- Having a friendly poker game
- Going to the batting cages
- Playing pool
- Going to a barbershop for an old-fashioned pampering
- Any favourite sport or game will do the trick
- or just relax and sleep in!
Just make sure everyone's dressed and ready when it's time to say “I do”!
5. Groomsmen Breakfast or Brunch
Try to get up early enough to have time for a full breakfast. Choose foods high in proteins, vitamins, and carbs, because energy is a must for this full day.
(Having a group breakfast also provides some nice bonding time, plenty of photo opportunities, and the chance to make sure all groomsmen have their proper attire and are prepared for the wedding.)
These extra details will just be the icing on the wedding cake for what will already be an amazing day.
