When she was 16, Ashley had printed out an article on ‘how to become a wedding planner’.
She knew it was her dream; she just had to figure out how to make it happen.
Now that she’s our new event planner at Hacienda Sarria, her first dream has come true! And the second is just around the corner…becoming a bride herself.
After eagerly awaiting a proposal from her long-term boyfriend Mike, Ashley has her first planning task ahead of her- picking the date.

When Does A Wedding Planner Get Married?
“Since I knew I would be busy during the summer months concentrating on my clients’ weddings, it seemed likely that my own would be in early spring or late fall. Seasons are a good thing to consider when choosing a date, but sometimes other must-haves become more important.
For instance, I love the fall and originally thought my wedding would be then, but having the date on a Saturday and at Hacienda Sarria were two things I was not willing to sacrifice. Winter also seemed like a romantic season to me, but our family will be travelling from out of town and we didn’t want the snow to hinder anyone.”
“I’m like Monica from Friends- I’ve been building my wedding book since the first few years Mike and I dated.”
“After much deliberation, I finally decided on May 2nd since our anniversary is in May and I wanted the weather to be a bit warmer. I will still get to incorporate my favourite season, fall, because I’m having my engagement photos taken at Hacienda in October. Now taking time off during wedding season for the honeymoon? That might be another story!”
Ashley and Mike will be wed in less than a year!
