Let’s face it, fashion is ever changing and continually transcending into new territories and trends. But there is one thing that is constant -classic and timeless beauty. This rings true with bridal fashion. A glowing bride, fresh faced bridesmaids and handsome groomsmen are always ‘in’. Kari Fisher is one of Hacienda Sarria’s recommended hair stylists and can help any bridal party achieve a classic, polished look.
Kari has been a hair stylist for 15 years and has worked on the sets of Much Music, CTV, So You think You Can Dance Canada and Comedy Now. To say she has experience with hair and fashion would be an understatement. Now located in Waterloo, Kari has focused most of her attention to working on shoots, fashion shows and bridal.
Kari has provided us with some tips to help define your look and ways she can help you achieve it, they are:
1.Research: your look and your stylist
Peruse through magazines, look-books and find something that draws you in, clip the one that catches your eye first or leaves a lasting impression. Bring these photos along with you to your consult.
Read through local bridal blogs or connect with recent brides to get referrals. Referrals or word of mouth can be the best way to find that hidden gem or someone who has provided excellent service. Also, remember to use your recommended or preferred vendors. These lists have been made with you in mind, only wanting the best experience for each and every occasion.
2.Be true to yourself
Although the advice of your friends and family can be invaluable, you need to remain true to who you are and what your vision is for your special day. You want to feel comfortable in your skin, the best version of yourself...just with a little added glamour.
3.A trial is a must!
This is where you work out all the kinks (figuratively and possibly literally speaking). This gives you a chance to connect with your stylist, they become familiar with your style and your hair. This is when you can try a couple different looks and see which best suits your face and your overall style in order to build that perfect look. An added reminder, make sure to bring along any accessories like your veil, jeweled head band or fascinator. That way your stylist is aware and can work it in to the flow of your hair.
One last thing to remember is that your stylist can’t read your mind (despite trying really hard to). Communicating is an integral part in defining your look and ultimately creating your perfect day -because let’s face it, if we look good, we feel good. Making sure to do your research, bring in those photos and clippings to your trial and show your true self to your stylist will all lead you to looking and feeling pretty and polished.
